Message from the President of the Board

Dear Supporters of LTA,

As the school year begins, Leadership Through Athletics remains open, engaging the community in our athletic and educational programs.

The early-morning Weekday Walkers program for seniors continues its success. A growing number of baseball, basketball and soccer coaches—like John Jancuska, recently retired from NCAA D1 athletics as head baseball coach at UMBC—have chosen our gym as their training centers, offering team and individual lessons, clinics and camps to kids, adults and professional athletes. And our facilities are rented seven days a week, from the batting cages for hitting and pitching practice to the multi-purpose room for meetings, birthday parties and even church services.

Upcoming (and ongoing) programs and events include:

  • Saturday, Sept. 29: Annual Coaches Clinic, featuring University of Maryland Basketball Coach Mark Turgeon
  • Sunday, Sept. 30: LTA Men’s Unlimited League
  • Monday, Oct. 1: Annual Camp Grace Co-ed Shooting Clinic for kids ages
10 through 18 (limited space available)
  • Thursday, Oct. 18: LTA Annual Night of Leadership
  • Saturday, Nov. 17: Cardinal Gibbons Annual Bull Roast

But we cannot accomplish our programming goals without your help. While we have a team of dedicated volunteers and staff, our work depends on public support, and every contribution makes an enormous impact. Whether you can offer a few dollars or a larger gift, please consider making a contribution to Leadership Through Athletics.

Or, consider purchasing a sponsorship for our second annual Night of Leadership, which honors local businessmen and women for their commitment to our community. This event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Overhills Mansion in Catonsville.
